I am strongly influenced by the Iyengar tradition and teach Hatha, Gentle, Restorative,
and Vinyasa Flow classes. My classes emphasize mindfulness, alignment, and deepening
the connection with the breath. Where applicable, I focus on assisting students
in finding the appropriate balance of muscular effort, and relaxation and release.
I aim to help students increase strength, balance, flexibility, and peace of mind.
My primary teacher is Kofi Busia. Other notable influences include Leeann Carey,
Erich Schiffmann, Maya Lev, Angela Farmer, and Mark Stephens. My classes are further
influenced by my massage training (see below), Vipassana meditation courses, and
yoga service programs at the Mount Madonna Center and Pacific Cultural Center in
Santa Cruz. I have been teaching since 2002.
I specialize in therapeutic bodywork and treating people with injuries and pain using
various levels of intensity. I have trained in a variety of modalities and my work
emphasizes integrative bodywork that is influenced by my years of teaching yoga and
focuses on fascia, and joint mobilization and stability. Additionally, I use techniques
that include cranial sacral therapy and polarity to help with the integration and
therapeutic process. I am committed to continuing education and providing client-centered
sessions. I am currently studying with Advanced Rolfer, Marty Morales in San Francisco.
I have been in the field of yoga and bodywork since 2002.
I also offer pre-natal massage and yoga-massage sessions. (Pre-natal sessions are
available at my Capitola, Los Gatos, and San Francisco locations. Yoga-massage sessions
are provided as house calls or at another designated location.
Corporate chair massage is another service I offer. This service has become increasingly
popular in all kinds of settings and as a practitioner it demands a certain kind
of flexibility that I am adept at. Please call or email me for availability.
